Best Quality
52100 Steel Grinding Balls52100 steel grinding balls are considered to be the best and most preferred steel grinding balls for the following reasons:
- The balls are almost perfect spheres.
- More available sizes than any other balls.
- Longer wearing and less expensive than other steel balls.
- Can be polished to ball bearing quality when required.

Size of Grinding Media
The smallest "Feasible" grinding media is recommended in all cases. The optimum size of media should not change with mill size. The same size media will do the best job whether the mill is one foot or eight feet in diameter. This is due to:
- They provide more contact points per revolution, and this results in quicker grinding action.
- They provide smaller voids, limiting the size of the particles which can exist there.
- They do not create excessive energy which cannot be utilized. Oversized grinding media is like using a sledge hammer to drive a tack.
- The smaller the media, the finer the grind.
